Default Rusty water, chunks inside of cylinder's (blown HG)

Just removed the head from my car..the block is complety full of water...very rusty water with pretty decent sized chucks of built up rust...Its stuck on ths sleeves pretty well..The motor did turn over befor i pulled the head...My Question pretty much is is my block and sleeves ok? is there a way i can clean the rust off of the sleeves without damaging them? and removing the bottom end from the car...I was thinking oven cleaner?? would this be bad and why?..Also..My headgasket doesent appear to have a crack in it or any point were i can see water was coming threw.....Yet my the bottom end is almost complety full of water...This is a d16z6 1.6 sohc vtec motor.

Default Rusty Water in Block

My question would be ...why was the head removed?

It's best to run a compression test before pulling off the head....
and Look at the plugs to see if 2 of the four next to each other look different from the other two.
but............
-------------------------------------

Use a rag to get the water out of the piston part of the cylinders,
and oil them down with WD40.

Scrub Out the Rust.......
Get a stiff gun-cleaning brush that can be pushed down into the
water jaclet holes of the sleeves to scrub loose the rust/scale/chunks from inside the block water jacket.

Lay a straight edge across opposite corners of the block, as well as straight across side to side of the block to be sure the block is not warped.

Look at the plugs to see if 2 of the four plugs next to each other look different from the other two.

Drain dirty water.....
Find the block drain screw, drain the dirty water and spray clean water into the top of the water jacket holes of the sleeves. Once the engine is back together, pour some radiator cleaner into the radiator, top up with water and run it for at least an hour after it warms up....take a trip....then drain all the water out of hoses, drain screw and block, and keep running fresh clean water through the system until all water looks clear. Drain ALL water and add coolant.

Install a new head gasket. Toss out the old one.

Does "bottom end" mean the oil pan?-Bob

Head was removed due to the fact of the matter of i thought its what ineed to do to get the car running...lol...I should of run a compression check to make sure everything was ok befor i pulled the head but i got a little impatient and wanted to work on it..I droped the head off at a machine shop (united speed world)...The machinest told me it has 4 burnt valves and is going to cost 480$ to "machine out" as he put it..My "step dad" told me to pour gasoline onto the head with it facing top end down onto the valves and if nothing leaked threw then my valves are sealing correctly??...I did this so said exprement no gasoline leaked threw but im sure under 180psi of pressure things are diffrent...I have since then givin up and been looking for a good condition running head and hopfully slap it on with a new hg and a new set of headbolts ( i was told you cant retourqe OEM honda headbolts) PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG...And hopefully slap it all together and get her running...By bottomend i was refearing to what i was told a bottomend of a motor is..The block...sleeves ect ect beneath the head...I do appoligize if i dont make any since, cant spell,And for my general lack of basic knowledge...

Check with Clearwater Cylinder Head for a second opinion on leaking valves.....

I usually put the head on it's side and pour mineral spirits down into the ports......easier to see valves in the combustion chambers that way.....

I'm not sure Honda Headbolts are one time use, like the stretchy ones....

Scrub Out the Rust.......
Get a stiff gun-cleaning brush that can be pushed down into the
water jaclet holes of the sleeves to scrub loose the rust/scale/chunks from inside the block water jacket........plug ALL oil drains that go to the
oil pan............then water blast out the chunks/rust until the water still sitting in the block is clear.-Bob

BTW nobody cares about spelling and knowledge. We care about people who smoke pot then work on their car........
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
( i was told you cant retorque OEM honda headbolts) PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG...And hopefully slap it all together and get her running...

By bottom end i was referring to what i was told a bottom end of a motor is..The block...sleeves etc etc beneath the head

Here is a write up i did a while ago for an Headgasket on an Accord... (basically the same steps, hope it helps)

How to: Replace Headgasket F22B2 - Honda-Tech

I wouldnt reccomend reusing stock headbolts. It can be done, but just think how dissappointed you will be when you go to crank it up after busting your ass getting it all back together and nothing sealed correctly bc you reused stock head bolts with "x" amount of miles on them... headache waiting to happen
