You sir, are wrong. The shocks have almost no spring pressure to them at all, they simply dampen the motion of the suspension. If you can push a shock down with your hand (which is usually very hard to do), it takes very little force to hold it there...not nearly enough to affect the ride height of a car. Yes the car will bounce wildly up and down with a blown shock but will eventually settle in the same exact spot as when the shocks were new...as long as the springs havent sagged since the shocks were new, of course.

Also.. the rear arms of the car run perpendicular to the length of the car, so unless its the Rear trailing arm bushing (the large one, about 3" overall) then there is no bushing towards the front of the car. If it is that large bushing, then yes it can be replaced.

Yep,its the trailing arm bushing--the 3" round ones. Mine are cracked all up. Im replacing those first and go from there.

if you got the time and money may get a master bushing kit and replace all the rubbers on the car ....its well worth it.

They are a fucking bitch to replace if you do it yourself too. Old Renegade is right...you should order a master bushing kit and just do all the rear ones while the rear is apart because in order to get the rear trailing arm off you need to uninstall the rest of the parts with bushings on them too. Do it all in one shot.
