the expansion valve does not meter the pressure in the system. leave it your good. flush it, change the drier, change oil in compressor not sure exactly but somewhere around 8oz or so. charge it up. DO NOT USE THE SIGHTGLASS. got 15-20%less freon then what it calls for in r12.
