find a new civic si tranny. there are many out there and you might even be able to make a trade with someone who is going turbo. plus it has a good gear ratio and its the least expensive way to go.

unfortunately gears are expensive and the LS (S80)tranny has the same first gear as the y1. thus youre buying 1st and 2nd when you already have 1st. the only benefit that i see is having the ls 5th which is great for cruising on the highway.

here are the gear ratios

S80 tranny

1st 3.230
2nd 1.900
3rd 1.269
4th 0.966
5th 0.714

Y1 tranny....

1st 3.230 (same)
2nd 2.052 (0.152 diff)
3rd 1.416 (0.147 diff)
4th 1.103 (0.137 diff)
5th 0.870 (0.156 diff)

1st 92-93 GSR (3.307)
2nd 92-93 GSr (2.105)
3rd 92-93 GSR (1.416)
4th 92-93 GSR (1.107)
5th JDM Civ SiR (EF8/9) (0.870)
Final JDM ITR 98+ (4.785)
