update: spent all night working trying to figu4re it out. redid the cdes and got 43- fuel system delivery. ran thru and checked the injector resistors and replaced the fuel filter- no difference. fuel pump? i mean we were getting plenty of fuel when we primed it so the pump seems fine. its just not going above 2k rpm. we reset the ecu and everything. disconnected the cables and pulled the ecu fuse. its the most miserable drive ever and its my only transportation...

called terry from t&c racing. i MAY be able to get up there wednesday but i work til 530 in downtown every day...

im frustrated as hell...

If your o2s are shot, your ecu will make you run rich as shit(thus black smoke). To avoid any lean conditions. Your gas mileage must suck.

im reading the helms manual- the o2 sensor is fine it seems. the o2 sensor would go off if there is fuel in the exhaust which i can smell- so it should be throwing that code. thats a result of the problem, not the problem itself. the problem is whatever is causing the system to limit revs to 2000rpm. and it cannot be in limp mode- ive reset the ecu and same thing minus the cel (it hasnt had an opportunity to trip due to it being driven only around the apartment complex)

so another strange piece to the puzzle...

when i turn the ignition on it at first jumps up to 2krpm, holds for a few seconds then sounds like a vlve closes and it drops down to 1k rpm or so and fluctuates. as soon as the gas is pressed the rpms shoot up to 2k rpm again and stays there until the ignition is turned off. also if let idle at the lower rpm for a few minutes, upon pressing the gas even a little the cel will turn on. not sure if its related, but it didnt do that when i got it...
