how bad is it to drive my car with just an open header?

what would be the purpose?
You will lose low end unless you are running some serious compression.
If this is just a temporary thing like driving the car for a day or two till you get the exhaust done it probably wont hurt anything honda headers are long enough where you shouldnt have to worry about cold air hitting the exhaust valves and cracking them. However you will hate running an open header it is extremely loud even when your not on the gas.
You will lose low end unless you are running some serious compression.

Or just get a pair of those headphones that jack-hammering construction workers use. Make a place to hang em up near the driver side door and youre all set.
