I got the b18c5 swapped into my eg I used the wiring harness that was on the engine/tranny and the stock dist that came with it.obd2 Everything plugged into the eg like it should and I ran the p28 ecu. The question is can I adjust my timing with the dist? I read an article about how the 97+ preludes cant adjust there timing with the dist. because the crank angle sensor is down by the crank and not in the dist like obd1. And that the prelude owners had to switch over to odb1 dist+ injectors and rewire some sensors. and one know whats up?

Thanks mr dyno man. I thought it sounded funny when I read it since the obd1 ecu doesnt see that sensor.

Thanks

OT: Alright I know the obd 2 engine harnesses will plug into an eg like above and run but has anyone ever tried plugging an obd1 engine harness into an obd2 car harness running the vtec wires etc.. to the ecu and getting it to run like this. Im going to be putting a jdm 95 gsr into a 97 hatch and want to try this out to avoid having to swap out the dist oil pump ect.. It will also run an obd1 p72 ecu. Will this work? Any ideas?

I think if you got the obd1 to obd2 ecu adapter harness then It would be fine but I have never heard of it being done. Therefore you would have an obd1 ecu reading an obd1 engine harness and sensors and the car wiring between the ecu and the engine harness being the only thing obd2.
