i just came home from buying toda spec b cams i kinda just went off and bought them cause i was looking for cams and everyone told me it was a good deal. So now i do my research on them on the web site it said that i had to use there valvesprings. is this true? oh buy the way the valvesprings are some $$$ and on top of that because there egg shaped id have to buy there retainers to. i was told by the person i bought them from that it would be hard to get the car to idle right..is this because the cams are lopey or because of my ecu(first gen b16 black/green pr3 ecu)? what would be the best ecu program with such agressive cams? iam sure ill have more questions later thanx for da help.

Also Id consider getting an aftermarket timing belt especially if you use the toda springs.

well the timing belt has to pull the cams and when the spring pressure cam lift and ramp angle are dramaticaly changed this increases the stress on the timing belt. There was a thread on this in the type r forum on honda-tech a while ago and a bunch of people were wondering why they were breaking timing belts with newly installed cams in particular toda B and Cs with toda valve springs. Just something that I think is worth looking into. I also think if a stock t-belt is used it would be alot safer to use the type r/portflow spring combo after seeing a chart of spring pressures for the different types of springs out there.
