7200 isnt enough RPM's to hurt anything. i revved my stock LS out to 8000 with no issues.
i would check for a bad ground. check the TPS voltage, could also possibly be a dizzy problem. but i would still do a compression test before anything else as its very easy to do. and make sure when you do the compression test you have the throttle body WOT or you will get a false reading.

The motor was built so you dont know who did it.
Your motor was stock.

ok, let me rephrase this. ive had several motors that ive taken to atleast 8k rpm's with no problems. mine were either stock, or built correctly.
but if the motor was built incorrectly i still dont see how taking it to 7200 would hurt anything, as thats not very high. if it was gonna break due to being built wrong, it would do it at any rpm.
you may not know who i am, but ive been around the honda game for a while.
i didnt do it at wot i forgot to.. but it read really low 120 120 120 121 stock should be between 135-199 wot reading should make it read about 10-15 more psi so i called my engine builder today and tommorow im bringing it down to their shop to see what the deal is.
i have a 1 yr waranty on the motor until 10/24/09 so HURRAY
the motor has arp rod bolds and headstuds.. i have reved it to 8000 with no isues before and had no drop in power at that rpm... ill make sure to check the grounds after i eat dinner hear in a bit
