Help me REBUILD my Ls/Vtec-Turbo
i am rebuilding my ls since i cracked a sleeve in my other block... here is everything i have for the build so far.
-cleaned and honed ls block w/ main caps
-cleaned and mic'd ls crank
-ls rods (w/ used arp rod bolts) and ls pistons
-used arp head studs
-used arp main studs
-new acl main and rod bearings w/ thrust washers
-new sealed power piston rings
-new ge ls/vtec head gasket
-used pr3 head
-used oil lines and fittings for the ls-v conversion
what else would i need? oil pan gasket? rear main seal? also the bearings did not come with any lube or anything should i just use white lithium grease to grease the bearings and journals before installation? the arp bolts did not come with instructions since they were in the block that cracked a sleeve... what are the torque specs for the rod bolts, main studs, and head studs? should i use thread locker? how do i seat the head studs into the new block? also in my haynes manual it states that i should re-tap the main threads and head stud threads, is this necessary? any help will be greatly appreciated and rep will be given thank in advance. more Qs to come...

You should really buy a helms manual. It is hard to explain stuff like this over the internet. I would personally have someone that has done this quite a few times assemble it for u, instead of taking the chance of fucking it up and haveing to start all over again.
If u reaaly wanna try and DIY here is a good link with lots of pics. This is for a B16 but its the same idea B16 Bottom End Assembly - Complete Walk through - MaybeSticky - Honda-Tech
damn, wish i had the engine stand free. that motor would be done in one weekend with all the gaskets/parts supplied. stock clearances are nice, its when you have to grind shit to make stuff fit is what takes time.
Helms will help a ton... so buy it.

anyone know torque specs for arp rod bolt, main studs and head studs? i don't have the arp lube but will regular red or blue thread locker work as well?

Go to arp's website and they have all the torque specs there and yes a helms is way better than the haynes manual. The helms manual si about 2-3 times the size of the haynes and goes into better detail
