hey man I got a quick question.. I am going to switch out my gsr head for ab16 unit this weekend. I was wondering if the heads are the same heights? meaning.. am I gonna need a different timing belt or just a new GSR one. any idea on what the compression will be.. I have srp 9.5 pistons right now..thanks in advance

i belive you can use either timing belt! but unless you mill head or run thinner gasket you will have lower compression!

ohh yeah i think compression will drop about .2-.4!!

so then it would be wise to invest in a thinner head gasket??

switching to a b16 head type r intake manifold. why not?

So I take it that you have the Type R intake? Why didnt you just get the Skunk2 Intake for the GS-R (I suppose that you have a GS-R) it would have been a lot cheaper to do it that way!

I had a b16 lying in my shed.. and found this guy that sold me a type r manifold for 200.00.. sounded good to me.. throw a type r cam in there and I got the price of the GSR manifold.. then you figure the price I get foe the GSR head when I sell it.. are you saying there is no good to this swap..

gsr head has smaller combustion chambers meaning higher compression and the gsr valve angles are also better to flow more air therefore gsr head would be better to use all motor.
