Default 94 gsr head bolt and cam caps bolt torque specs and seqeunce?

tried to google it but am getting tired of lookin. rep will be sent for answer..

i am doing a headgasket and its pissing me off.

spent a whole day. doing a headgasket on gsr.. get everything torqued down i am pretty sure i had the right specs.. fired right up sounded nice.. 3 seconds later i heard gushing sounds. all 4 quarts gushed out of the head gasket.. in the corner behind dizzy..

i guess the head is warped so now i have to get it decked. which i should have done first.. but it wasnt ran hot long at all..

any idea on this either would help? i just dont see all 4 quarts coming out that fast ...

sounds like you have a Ls headgasket not a GSR headgasket or you put it on upside down DO NOT FIRE THE MOTOR UP AGAIN untill you fix it...AND no the head is not warped i will asure you of that

For four quarts gushing out in 3 seconds? You have a serious gap there, and yes you are right, the head could be warped.

Whether warped when it went on or not, if it is torqued down and one corner is sitting up enough to allow 4 quarts out in 3 seconds, you know it might be warped now after having been torqued in than condition.

If it was torqued down while skewed in this way, it could spring back when you take the torque off it, but do get it checked.

There is no wisdom in not checking any head being installed. If that head spit out a gallon of oil in 3 seconds, what argument do you have for me that it should not be checked?

Helms says head bolts are torqued starting two center, then the two to the right and left out to the end. Do in two steps 29 lbs first and 61 lbs final. Be sure to have clean threads on bolts and block and oil the bolt threads before you start.

^the only thing wrong with that is where he said,do to oil only comeing up on the back center he said it is puring out the coner back of distibutor and as most know hats where the Vtec"hole" is so im guessing he has the wrong headgasket even if the head was warped it would not flow out that fast.altho i have never seen a warped honda head in 11years i been workin on them not saying it cant happen but its rare even if you drive the car for 2weeks and it over heats every time you drive it"just a proplem i had once"till i learn about the fan switch.but i would take the head off and take a picture of the headgasket or just look in the back corner the headgasket should be sticking out if its not then you got a ls one,if it is then you might has done somethin wrong with your dowel pins

My point was not that the head was warped when he put it on, but if it was tourqed down on top of a dowel pin, or otherwise skewed to leave one corner up, the act of tourqing it down that way could put tremendous stress on the head, perhaps warping it.

Remember, this guy says he lost a gallon of oil in three seconds. I can't pour a gallon of oil in three seconds unless I use a bucket. Sounds like there is more problem than just leaking around the head gasket.
