my car does the same thing look up under the dash and follow the clutch pedal up and you will see where a plug can plug in to the top of the clutch pedal( cltch pedal switch was shiny stainless steal- really stuck out under there), the plug is yellow in my car ( 92 eg) the plug has 2 wires some one just jumped those 2 wires or the clutch switch it self is broke, mine was messed with cause of an alarm some one had once installed. i wouldn't go messing with it cause if you fuck it up your car just wont start unless you push start it <---learned the hard way
