Default Quick question Need my daily for work tomm !!!!

hey guys i had a question today i was driving normally and all of the sudden my clutch pedal stayed down, and now it it feels like if its disconnected or something broke, i have a B16 (CABLE TRANSMISSION) i went to the autopart and puschased a new slave cylinder that goes in front of the tranny with a rubber boot and i bleeded the lines but nothing the pedal is still free when i bleed the lines it hardend a little but still stays down, i was told by a friend of mines that its most probably the MASTER SLAVE CYLINDER that is on the car, has this happened to anyone before? anyone know the main moving parts in a cable tranny???

Worse case scenario (doing this LAST) you can drive without operating the clutch. When you need to come to a stop, you turn off the engine. When you need to move again, you put it in first, then start the car. When it comes to shifting, you shift the same way, just without using the clutch. Of course, you should be rev matching anyways, so if you're good, there wont be much of a difference.

I drove a month doing this. I recommend against it unless you have no other choice. I had similar circumstances though, and it turned out being both the master and slave cylinders.

Guessing from your threads, I'm assuming your car needs some work though, and you bought it that way. I suggest you consider buying a beater when you get the chance.

You just stated that you have a b16 cable trans.Cable tranny's are called cable because you use a cable to release the clutch. There is no hydraulics.sometimes you have to bleed it a shitload before you feel anything significant at the pedal.if your master is leaking there will be fluid under the dash soaked into the carpet most likely.

Nope, entirely hydraulic. My car is known for having shitty slave cylinders.

Master cylinder can also leak under hood. You'll know because the fluid is brake fluid, which eats paint like it's a fat girl.

How old and how much abuse has it had? Was it originally automatic? Its possible that the cable is binding or that the clutch fork came off the pivot point. Your best bet is to follow the line everywhere it goes. Make sure anywhere it contacts something that its lubed with plenty of room to move back and forth like it needs

probably something going on with the clutch release fork,or the cable for the clutch is streatching and about to break,or the clutch pedal itself is gonna break off of the rest of the pedal assembly.I had all three happen to me and I was having problems getting the clutch to release all the way on my cable B16 in my CRX back in 03'

Keep in mind my car is Hydro to Cable converted.

Okay iam going to be specific with all the weird things that have been going on, ive noticed it started happening a few weeks ago, when i would race the car the clutch pedal would stay low and not come up completely, a few days ago i noticed i was running low on brake fluid, and my car would have a hard time engaging the clutch and going into gears, and today when this happened and i opened the hood and looked at the slave cylinder in the bottom front of my transmission(the one with the black rubber boot) and it was coming off and leaking brake fluid, so i went to the autopart and purchased a new slave cylinder and installed it and everything and still nothing i tried bleeding the bottom of it by the small screw in the bottom but still nothing, does anyone know what it can be??? am i bleeding correctly? or something else thats messed up
