RiceRocket:
B16a stroke IS 77.4mm check a factory service manual.
The b17a and b16a blocks are identicle castings. If not how else would the complete rotating assembly from a b17a fit and deck perfectly in a b16a block?
Stroker kits:
I was somewhat wrong about the toda kit it uses a 87.2mm crank and a 134mm rod and a short piston meaning the wrist pin was moved up(by my calculations about 3.3mm). It also has a r/s ratio of 1.54. Crower also uses short pistons on their stroker kits to run longer rods and maintain decent rod ratios. Their site mentions it. These are all custom forged pistons not modified stock.

Does anyone have any comments about the destroked b20a5 idea?

I can also attest to lsvtecs being reliable. Mine has been up and running for over a year and half daily driven with no problems whatsoever. If you do it right and check clearances then it will be almost as relaible as a gsr that is driven in the same fashion.

Go find a B17 and measure it but the DECK HEIGHT IS DIFFERENT. But lets forget the whole b17 scenario...I have seen 3 different Rod sizes and 2 different Deck heigts for an engine that was USA only and only for 1-2 model years...

B16A2 81mm bore 77mm stroke 134mm conrod 1.74rod ratio.
B17A1 81mm bore 81.4mm stroke 137mm conrod 1.68rod ratio.

Getting away from strictly B Series engines Would it be worth it to cram an H22 into a crx for the displacement? Is the power worth the extra weight?
Also Does anyone know the specs on the Jun Crower AEBS or any other stroker kits?

For a strictly track car I would consider an h22a in a crx but it would require cutting and welding.

Dont get confused...I agree that 1.75:1 or even 2:1 R/S is BEST but it is hard to achieve. The BIG B setup that I contemplated building HAS a 1.75:1 R/S. IT also has over 2 liters of displacment. Why doesnt Honda build it? 2 reasons. Honda is a Economy Car company and wants to make profits. The second reason is that by increasing deck height by more than 1 inch requires you to find a way to keep it under the hood....Its too tall.
