My friend with a cx wants to swap in a d16z6. Who knows why. What kind of prices is he looking at here. And what kind of prices are there for an LS engine?

There isnt anything wrong with the d16z series. Just because there arent two cams doesnt mean its junk. With a little work the engine can turn pretty mean...but still its nice to have the tuneability of DOHC and the aftermarket support.
As for pricing you can pick one up for around 800 or so. Its a pretty cheap block since supply is there and demand is low.

hey nothing wrong with that SOHC VTEC swap. The CX is nice and light and it will be 2 worlds different - it should actually be a low 15 second car outta the box. A few bolt on mods should get it into the high 14s. We just finished one up not too long ago on a VX (same chassis same weight) and it scoots out pretty good for a mostly stock motor.

See that post a little bit higher? It says 800 bucks or so. For an LS motor Ive no clue check out sohfast.com to get a base price.
