what kind of trans do i have check numbers please!!!!!!!
the label on the trans says ys1-1021381
i have tried to research this but there was two different ys1 trans. one with lsd and one without. i have a b18 c-1 engine but i dont belive this is the stock trans that came with the motor. Also i cant figure out what kind of gear ration it has cause im buying a turbo system and i want to have the best gear ratio for the turbo to be able to spool at the same time. If the trans is worth keeping and just buying a helical if its not lsd let me know or if its not worth keeping cause of a gear ratio.

You sure its YS1 and not Y21? The YS1 is a Integra 90-93 Ls/Gs/Rs or 93 gsr transmission. It definetely did not come with your b18c1 motor. It's a cable transmission. So I figure your car is an EF civic or CRX and whoever put the motor in, put that transmission in because they did not want to do a cable/hydraulic swap.
The turbo spooling has alot to do with the turbo you are getting and the type of setup you are getting. Do some research online on the subject. Yahoo! Google and educate yourself.

So your clutch lines were hydraulic?
What year/model car is it in also?
Don't believe me on the cable/hydro? Check that \/

its a gsr engine in an acura integra, but from what research i have done the ys1 trans came both with the type r and ls gear ratio. Ive also seen the trans having lsd but most not. I was told to put the trans axles in and spin them and feel for resistance on one and i can see if its lsd. the trick is figuring out which gear ration it has. Also the car is somewhat being pieced together from a project my lil brother started so im not exactly sure what year but its def 94-00 parts.
the ys1 came in the 93 GSR (which had a B17btw)and LS/RS/GS of the same generation only in cable form. Different gearing though. You can tell either by taking it apart or by shift points. Like mph at certain rpm
ys1 only came in 92-93 integra. with either the ls gears or gsr gears. look at where the axles go, if you can see through to the other side then it has no lsd, if you cant see throug then it has Lsd.
