I bought .025 itr pistons for a ls/vtec setup. However when I took the block to the machine shop they recommended for me to get .050 over pistons to get a really clean bore and hone. With the .025 pistons there was only .002 left to bore. I called Acura and found out that the largest Honda pistons only come in .025 oversize. Here is my dilemna. Im already spending too much money...should have just kept the ls motor in the Crx and be miserable...There is a guy selling a ls/vtec block that has 10000 miles on the rebuid. I think hes name is Leon Hing. Does anyone know this person or can comment on his work. Im deciding whether I should buy the block and save the money or go ahead with the rebuild and buy some forged pistons. If I buy the block I can sell my block to someone who wants to go with forged pistons.

What pistons are out there and what are your guys opinions about them. Off the top of my head Ive heard of JE Wiseco and Endyn. Im not too sure about Endyn because of all the controversy and they cost quite a bit. Im going NA so I dont really need to spend much money on pistons (stock would have done fine.Im also poor. Any experience with Wiseco and JE? Any one has a hook up for these pistons?

Thanks for all input.

Which machine shop did you goto? DAMN. Try Dwans in Largo. They know their shit. You should NEVER have to bore over that much unless you have a scratched sleeve.

Standard overbore is .25mm or .010in

Sorry I guessed it was .50 over (.02). I took it to Eiseleys in Tampa. I called and they seemed to know a lot about the ls/vtec setup. So I guess I should take it to Dwans and see what they say. They cyclinder walls seemed okay...no major scratch. I wasnt burning any oil or anything the car ran fine (recently ran a 15.2 1/4 mile stock in a Crx). I guess Ill hold on to the pistons and take the block to Dwans and see what they say. Thanks to everyone for their inputs. I really appreciate it.
