Question Block question

Ok , so im still fairly new to the import scene and i was wondering if a B18 or a B20 would be a better platform , witch ever i get is going to be Sleeved , and fully built so as far as the Stock goes it doesnt matter, I plan to boost .

LMK what u guys think is best , any and all Help is appreciated.

if its getting sleeved it doesn't matter.

because they are pretty much identical. b18=81mm stock sleeves, the b20=84mm stock sleeves. other than that, everything is pretty identical.

this was addressed on honda tech years ago
B20 Vs. B18 - Honda-Tech

Since they are basically the same engine I always say there is no replacement for displacement. sure torque is not as COOL as spinning a 1.6 to 15,000 rpm to get a peak number to impress the girls. But in real life Torque is king. and Displacement = torque. (and off boost power)

the 96-98 B20B engines had a lower more boost friendly 8.8:1 compression, and Remember the B20A is a diffrent engine altogether. those were from the early 90's and late 80's and canted 18 degrees, while there is nothing "wrong" with their design, they do have compatibility issues.. I've heard of a couple people buying B20's and finding this out after the fact.

yeah but if you're gonna sleeve it you can make a b18 into a b20, so again it doesnt matter.

Whats a good compression ratio with that if i'm going to boost ? i think i still have alot of Research to do b4 i start my build in Jan.
