Compression Ratio help!!!!

Default Compression Ratio help!!!!

ok ive got a darton sleeved b16, 81mm bore im looking to run 20psi on it fully built bottem and top end ive gone all out on the build. now im ordering the pistons for the engine
im trying to get some pistons but cant figue out what compression ratio ill need, i dont want to go to low so i have no power but i dont want to crank it to high and detonate n blow my engine

You knew enough to send your block to darton and to build the engine, but you don't know what CR to use? o_0


Just use 9:1 and call it a day.

Bore it to 84mm and buy the CPs I have forsale. You will need all the help you can get on that little 1.6

I'd do 9:1, if the bottom end is truly built then the lower compression will give you more room to run more boost safely.

ok ive got an eagle forged light weight crank, ragle forged h beam rods, darton 81mm sleves. iv got comp stage two sever stret, compition cams comp cam gears, comp valve springs, compe titanium retainers stage two port and polish i using a garret 60 trim t3/t4 at 20 psi my buddy told me if i run 8.8 compression ratio ill only be able to run 13psi or the cylinder pressure with be to great and caus detionation, other ppl have told me iwith the sleves and build ive got running i can use up yo 9.0 so what do you honda gurus think? ive ordered pistons from j.e. just need to get back to them on the compression ratio just looking for advice on my build.

What your buddy "told" you is not accurate at all. Their are too many variables. I would go with 9.1:1cr. How much power are you looking for? and remember tuning is KEY!!

im with him if the block really is sleeved you better bore it out or you will be wasteing it,at least go to 83-84mm you will still be safe at 20Psi
