Default Choosing Pistons?

I would like to know your opinions on getting high compression pistons. I was looking at JE, Weisco, CP, or is JDM ITR the best way to go? I was looking at those four brands and in standard size. I was thinking either Weisco or JDM ITR's. Thanks for your help with this.

Depends what your trying to accomplish. Running forged pistons & rods is not needed on an all motor 1.8L application. You can use oem honda parts.

I was talking to Steve C. and he was telling me that I might as well go with forged pistons it will give me some extra power more than just a JDM ITR piston would. Basically just want more power. I want to put on pistons (maybe rods), cams, cam gears, intake manifold, injectors and a tune and thats about it. Something more powerful but is still very reliable.

The material doesn't give you more power the compression does along with tuning and supporting mods. What motor is this for and what are your power goals?

B18C1 Would like 180-200 whp. Just want the car to be stronger and a little quicker. I was going to do the bottom end first thats why I'm looking at pistons first and maybe rods.

yea i pretty much think at those numbers as your goal its possible to reach with all honda OEM (have seen it done using all oem parts wih a b18b block) dont waste the money if u dont have to, use it on other other supporting mods.

There will be no power difference between forged components & oem components.
Forged pistons/rings & rods = $800.00
OEM pistons/rings = $300.00

The only way you would yield more power with aftermarket components is if you had lighter components or yielded a higher compression using the aftermarket forged piston.

Oh okay I see. Yea I basically want to keep the compression under 12:1. Somewhere in the 11 range. Yea it does make sense from a cost stand point and power stand point to keep it Oem. Thanks.

Save your money and put it towards a good header. If you can find some JDM ITR pistons, ITR/CTR cams, itr springs/retainers, Skunk2 intake manifold, 2.5" exhaust, a GOOD header and tune. Should be good enough for your 180whp goals on a nice dyno
