its gone to shit bc he asked to have a rumor clarified?

#1 if you dont hear your crossover youre not going into vtec. the only reason it gets noticeably louder is bc the secondary lobes are much larger in comparison to the primary. hence if you dont hear anything at all then its not engauging.

#2 if your vtec is incredibly loud and/or there is a dip in power, then your vtec is not set at the right point or the tuning of the car is off.

theres nothing wrong with asking questions. it may be even dumber NOT to ask. go be beligerant somewhere else.

Thanks man definitely need a tune, well not until ibrek the motor in atleast, I just gotthe motor rebuilt in march and 2 mos later kablewy, the freaking drain plug off my oil pan some how broke loose and all the oil came out and therefore spuna bearing, its in the process of being rebuilt as we speak, I plan on getting it tuned because i got a basic set up gsr block twith jdm type r pistrons on usdm gsr rods and stock gsr crank, crower stg 1 cams sk2 full adjustable cam gears and sk2 itm. i was told that with that set up depending on how good the rebuild was i couild see 190whp but not really ocncerned with that i justr want it to run and run good you know. but thanks for all your input rep'd man

what header and throttle body will you be using also the size of the throttle body. might not be up there in whp. should have used the jdm b-16 pistons. the p30's the will yeild the highest streetly usable compression. civic type R pistons will give more compression but not for the street cause you will have to de-tune to make it streetable.

BUUUUTTT....p30s dont press onto stock gsr rods like they do ls ones. and for the extra compression hes really not gonna make that much more power. im at 11.0:1 compression on my ls v with usdm ARRR pistons and i make similar numbers as someone with p30s.

HONDA TECH comp calc says it will give me 10.8 comp from the stock gsr 10.00.
ctr 12.04
b16 11.3
i also have stock gsr headers and stock tb.

FYI the best place to break in an engine is on the dyno

and don't get a street tune or a dyno tune, get both, one or the other is, IMO unacceptable
