maybe a bad oil pump but if your oil light isn't lit-up, I doubt your pump is bad. maybe the vtec oil pressure switch is bad. those run around $50. try the parts for sale section to find one cheap.

does your solenoid have the pressure switch on it? some jdm ones do not, and if you are running a usdm ecu it will obvously throw that code.

the truth!

when is it clicking? when you reach X rpms? or when you put 12v to it? if you put 12v to it at idle does the sound of the engine change?

Sometimes when you have a good size dent in your oil pan you will not have enough oil pressure. What do you have this motor in? I would get a oil pressure gauge from the auto parts store and check it.

only reason i know is bc the head i bought for my setup has a jdm solenoid and i had to ground it and disable the code completely in my ecu via crome. but i believe if a STOCK ecu doesnt pick up a pressure switch (which i believe was the code he said he threw) then it wont allow vtec to engauge.
