people and bad info. did the right thing and got a 2nd aand 3rd opinion. use the dowel pins and the studs. there was a place in st.pete called thompsons warehouse where i got mine from back in the day.

What's the purpose of the dowels if you have headstuds? Don't the headstuds keep the headgasket in place? I guess we all learn something everyday.
