Dc2 is the GSR unlike the DC witch is Ls/Gs
The EF is really only in Japan and the US there called ED's here.

they just differentiate between cars depending on trim, model, motor, number of doors, etc. also depending on whether it's JDM, EDM, USDM, etc.
A car could be the exact same as another on the exterior, but with a different motor it could have a different chassis code, so the numbers just specify what car is being referred to. There are hundreds, so don't bother trying to learn them all, haha.
for example, an LS/RS/GS USDM 94-01 Integra is a DC4, the GS-R and Type-R Integras of the same gen are DC2's.
USDM 96-00 Civic hatches are EJ6's and the American Civic EX Coupes are EJ8's, American Civic Si's are EM1's, etc....
Basically the Chassis code will tell you exactly which car is in question, so if someone says "Hey I just picked up a turbo'd EG6", I would know that he just picked up a 91-95 JDM Civic SiR II Hatchback, RHD.
You don't have to be so specific when you refer to the code though, if you're just mentioning a car like a Civic or an Integra, you can just say "Yeah that guy drives a 99 EK", or "That's a nice EG". Anyone who knows anything about Honda will know what you mean right away.
