What does long block mean (noob)

What does long block mean (noob)
I am lookin at 2 GRS motors online. Ones is 2600 and the other is 1600. they are from the same seller, presumably the same milage but the cheaper is listed as a "long block"... what does that mean? Sorry for teh stupid question.

it means no tranny just block and head

yea if its a complete swap it will say complete changeover or something of that sort .. long block usually doesnt come with accessory componets such as alternators ps pump ac compressor so yea .. and at least u asked and didnt risk getting the wrong motor ..
