would it be a good idea to turbo my 1.6 ex very daily driven and has 76000 miles on it....or should i just save forever and get a swap? about the turbos.....if i was to turbo my ride what other things would i have to do to the engine to make it hold up with the power....i wish it could be as easy as buying the turbo and slapping it on and im done...but im sure its not that way?
Dont boost that engine you will be wasting your money. If you plan to turbo you could do it for cheap and get shitty results(blown engine etc) or get a good turbo and all necessary equipment(turbo/manifold/bov/timer/controller/ignition system/lower comp pistons/etc) for a lot more than you would spend on getting a JDM B16a1/2 you can get one for about $1500-$3000 full swap depending on miles. It is a lot more bang for the buck you could spend that on a good turbo. With going b16 swap the parts are cheap and available and you would have a stepping stoe to start building on. Your engine will take mods and turbo but it is more work than I think you know and maintenance. But dont listen to me this is how I end up getting cheap turbos(blown engine dont need turbo need money for new engine so they sell turbo). If you plan to race or go beyond just basic bolt ons than swap if not you can find many bolt ons that will help prior to getting a turbo. But that is just my opinion anybody else got an opinion??
