it seems that alot of people on here dont have any idea that there were differant d16y8 engine parts. everytime i see people selling stuff they say stuff like "y8 manifold for sale" or "y8 i/m gasket" "y8 head"

from what ive seen:
there were at least 2 d16y8 heads... 96-98 and 99-00
and 4 d16y8 intake manifolds. 96-98 5spd, 96-98 auto, 99-00 5 spd, 99-00 auto.


none of these things are 100% interchangable without modification. the 99-00 heads have an extra piece on top of their intake ports. its got a vacuum line on it or somthing....not sure what it does exactly, but you cant put that manifold on a head that isnt that one and you cant put any other stock manifold on that head. then there are the 5 speed and automatic differances that a few people seem to know about... the idle air controller is totally differant on the auto and 5 speed. the 5 speed IACV is on the back of the manifold just like most other hondas but the automatic is integrated into the throttle body area. and i think has an extra wire.

just figured id clarify it for the people who dont know. dont want anyone to buy the wrong shit like i have in the past.
