haha its true, but what ever works when your strapped for cash works, plus theres no cement at my house so even if i had a hoist it would suck, i def think the tree is good for more then 500+ pounds lol we had like 6 of us hold on to the rope first to make sure lol

i do not have pics of my motor swap but I was just replacing my KA for another stock KA in my 1992 240.well two friends and I used a come-along and strapped it to the raftters in his garage.well every time we cranked on the come along the raftters would start to crack ,thank GOD it was a rental house.needless to say it left some serious tears in the wood.

When I 1st did I swap by myself for the 1st time, I didnt have any tools really and was only 15yrs old, So I just took the head and tranny off the shortblock and mounted the shortblock in the engine bay, then bolted \up the tranny then reinstalled the head, This way anything I had to lift was light enough to do so. I was sooo proud! I did it all by myself

Wow I am sooo glad when I first started doing swaps we had a garage and engine lifts lol...sounds like what you guys did was kinda fun but I'd rather do it the easy way.
