H&R Coil-overs
I really was not quite sure where to post this question but I figured Id get the majority of you tech gods here.
I may break down and fork over my $1200 for a set of H&R coil-overs. The more I look at them they dont seem to be true coil-overs especially not in the rear. PLEASE give me some feedback so I can determine whether or not to temporarily rob my college savings account of this large chunk of money. Thanks in advance.

One more coil-over related question.
Has anyone here heard of FK Autosport out of Germany? I can get a good deal for a set of their coil-overs for $799. They are TUV approved and have a lifetime warranty (same as the H&Rs). I am a bit skeptical to hand over money for a product I have heard about only from the guy trying to arrange the group-buy. Also being that the company is in Germany it would be hard to argue over warranty issues if they arrise.
Once again thank you for any feedback.

the fronts look like coilovers but the rear...Im not too sure about. They might have just taken off the sleeve to showcase the shock body. Id contact H&R directly before I plunk down any change.
Some other options you might want to look into are:
1) if youre prepared to break the bank www.truechoice.com is the ONLY way to go. They have some of the sweetest setups...god if only I had a job.
2) Koni makes a nice coilover set as well b16a2pwr has a set ask him what he thinks of em.
3) dont break the bank and just buy a set of Koni/Tokico/etc shocks and some Ground Control sleeves. This is the route Im going with since I cant afford True Choice and Ground Control will allow me to customize my spring rates. Im going to go for 350front 400rear with an 8 spring height. This should help reduce understeer alot more and still be nice on the road.

Unfortunately for the Focus no one makes a true coil-over kit for the rear yet.
Ground Control does have a nice setup but the kit rings in in the low $400s. Koni is the only manufacture so far to have shocks/struts for the Focus and they cost about $550 on the average for a set. So for that price I can get the H&R kit which has dampers specifically valved for the springs for only $150-200 more. Plus H&R has a lifetime warranty and I can probably sell them to someone else if a better suspension kit comes along somewhere down the road.

The rear coils are adjustable. but just like the coil set up for the VWs jetta and golf the adjuster is on the bottom of the spring the black purch is actually the adjuster. as for the ride find anyone who owns a vw with them on it and you will have the answer you are looking for!!!!! I have installed two sets in the last six months and both of them were awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!the ride is amazing and the handling and control is really impresive.
(AND NO I DO NOT WORK FOR H&R) HAHA But they are really nice and simple to adjust and you will definitally not be wasting your money if you like the car you are working on!
goo luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
