automatic p28?

Default automatic p28?

y are poeple saying an automatic p28 wont work for a five speed? i put it in my friends 95 civic 5sp n works fine. the only thing was it threw a automatic transmission soleniod code. is that why poeple dont use cause it throws a code? i had vega from phearable.net take it out. after that perfectly fine ecu. i just wanna know why, maybe u can shed some light.

Most people that say you can't use it are ricers w/o the proper knowledge. Its like saying LS trannies are best for turbo cars since they stay in boost for way longaRRR.

i used to have a auto p28 and no problems. the ecu did eventually die on me but it was used for years. something about auto p28's have issues sometimes with fuel pump.

i personally wouldnt use one unless its been 5 speed converted. i dont like check engine lights

Which takes less than 5 mins to do and should be performed anyways if running it on a 5 speed car.

They all can die at any time, they are over 10 years old.
The life span of an auto vs manual ecu is not relevant, they have the same life span.

Auto and Manual ecus use the same board minus some transistor & programming differences. Once an ecu is properly converted to 5 speed and chipped, it will perform exactly the same.
