Default Question about a 1989 Prelude

Hi guys. I have just a quick question to run by you.... Did a 1989 Honda Prelude STOCK come with VTEC? Was VTEC even around then? Does anyone know where I can get this information in black and white? I'm new to all this, so go easy on me not knowing any of this info. Thanks

if it has a vtec engine and its an 89 it must have a swap.

the only honda product with factory vtec in 89 was an DA6 acura integra RSi + XSi equipped with a D15b.

as far as was vtec around, actually a variation has been around since 1969 when Alfa Romeo released the 1969 spyder voloce which had a hydraulic variable valve timing system.
