need help fast 90 si

Default need help fast 90 si

my hood was left open last night when it rained and now car issues of course. the car starts up alright i made sure there wasnt water in eney key parts but when i hit the gas she bos down and shuts of i cant figure it out. theres no engine light on but the ecu is flashing 7..9..1 eney help would be app. thanx alot ive been haven bad luck this month with this damn car...

well 7 is yout TPS which is throttle position sensor, 9 is your number one position sensor, and 1 is heated O2 sensor #1, sounds to me like te water is causing some electrical issues

im gonna try and pull all the plugs and blow them clean and see what happens...

Umm..the 90 doesnt have a heated o2 sensor. And the ecu would blink them in order 1..7..9..........repeat. Sounds like you may have gotten water into your distributor. Also the tps would certainly cause this kind of chaos. The o2 code will often get thrown just because the engine is running funny, in limp mode and usually WAY too rich.

thanks man i pulled the plug on the dis. and water poured out im leting it all dry out now will see what happens..x

Water poured into your motor??? Light a blow torch and stick it down there for a few seconds.

dont listen to the blow torch thing you will warp something in the motor torches directly on metal parts is no good
