Default 97 Civic Towing Capacity...

HEY GUYS I HAVE LOOKED AND LOOKED FOR ANY KIND OF RATING ...IF U CANT FIND ANYTHING AS WELL THEN LET ME KNOW IF U THINK IT WILL PULL WHAT I WANT IT TOO...



I have my own detailing biz but i dont want to buy a truck i love my civic ...plus insurance gas and storage is a issue... i want to tow a small maybe 4x8 trailer with a 60-80 gallon tank along with pressure washer and generator.. i am not forgetting the chemicals and such ...




80 gal tank:full with water= 670
presure washer= 50
generator=50
mis.. chemicals vacum..=100

give or take 900 lbs do u guys think a civic can pull that. not including the wieght of a trailer .. i dont know how much the one i get is going to weigh.. lmk what u guys thing

you should be fine

i towed a trailer with my jet boat with a 95 civic and it did fine, boat and trailer weighed 1700 lbs.

i towed a detailing trailor about the same specs as your discribing with a 99 altima (fwd 4 cilinder engine ) for 5 months every day with no problems. I know its a different vehicle but the lay out of the car is basically the same.

deff standard and its got a lx trannie in it

1st 45mph
2nd 85mph
3rd 120mph....i dont neeed 4th and 5th but i save gas like u wouldnt belive get to 80-90 drop in 5th .. and cruz at 1,500 rpms i love it

try to put most of the weight towards the mid-back of the trailer. The more tounge weight the lower your car is going to sag

appreciate the comments / ideas guys keep them comming i was going to put the tank over the axle/towards the back like suggested i am going with 100 gal more than likely but its a low sitting tanks i think only a 1ft-2ft tall but about 4ft wide so right in the middles was were i was thinking ...also if anyone needs thier car detailed i have many clients to back me up i know i know tr memebers take care of thier own rides lol....MySpace.com - Jose - 20 - Male - TAMPA, Florida - www.myspace.com/vip813 gotake a look at just a few of my works more on my personal page which u can also get to throught that one
