Default sohc boost vs ls boost?

TR what do u recommend?
i have a 98 civic ex with the d16y8 in it...
im going boost soon enough...

or should i swap an LS (b18b) and boost that instead?

is it worth the 1500ish extra for the LS motor instead of the singlecam?

i plan on runnin a t3/t4 on about 7-10psi.

With the LS theres always room to improve later on in the future (vtec head, IMO more choices for valvetrain) and you'd make more power with less boost

+1 ^, but never under estimate the SOHC....if your going to do internal upgrades and a rebuild either way you go, then stick with the SOHC and save the $1500ish towards the turbo kit or motor parts...

+1 on that

I'm rocking a d16z6 on 7lbs now, it definatley surprised the hell out of me the first time I drove it. It pulls alot harder than my 180whp all motor ls/vtec did.

Boost always "feels" faster, but not always true. In the long run, Ls would probably be the better choice.

I vote on the ls platform. It is easier to make more power.

depends on your budget really. maybe spend the extra 1500 and build th bottom end and head of the single cam ull b boosting, that way ull get more out of ur t3/t4 on that sohc platform. built sohc turbo > stock ls turbo.
