p30 oversized pistons for a high compresion beast!!!! along with what everyone else said. arp's is a must! inexpensive security. also whichever head you can get for the cheaper do that, cause more than likely with a serious build you will port & polish the head.

im with Kj i use .40 oversized "82mm" b16 pistons
just stock Ls rods dont waste money shotpeen or anything just Arp 8mm bolts
polished crank "napa40bucks"
any obd2 oil pump
arp arp headstuds
acl bearings
I would spend the money on new valve stem seals for the head and while you do that buy tt or NEw cromemoly retainers dont use the stock
i would also piece together the vtec kit dont waste the money on the golden eagle one
then top it off with a itr intake cam to mean i like the b16 head do to the intake manifold
