Default b16 oil pressure problem/question

I just got done rebuilding a b16a2.

primmed the block on the engine stand

primmed the head when i put the complete motor in the car.

car fires right up but the oil light is on

I removed the factory oil pressure sending unit and I install an auto meter oil pressure gauge. and the gauge reads 0

im just looking for any pointers to lead me in the right direction.

did you have the old pump apart? if you have no pressure at all it sounds like one of a couple possibilities, if the pump was good before. either the pickup is sucking air and not allowing the oil to be drawn up into the pump or you have a bad or installed wrong relief valve.

1. Improperly installed pickup or nuts not tightened on pickup.
2. Something got into the pickup tube clogging it before you installed it.
3. There is no oil in the engine.
4. The oil pump impeller broke
5. The main feed galley from the pump to the block clogged with something that doesn't belong in the engine (you aren't missing a nitrile gove, I hope)
6. Always pull the plug wires and crank a freshly rebuilt motor until the oil light goes out or the pressure gauge goes up. Even if you don't get pressure, the assembly and bore lube you used will prevent damage.
