Default Custom made air shield! [progress pics]

Does anybody have or know the measurements needed to build a custom box around an SRI to shield/limit the air from the engine bay from the air aspirated by SRI?

Similar to the ARC design... I've seen people that have done it using sheets of aluminum... I want to use CF but would like to not have to pave the road that much if possible and maybe use dimensions from someone who has already done that!?

anyone know? or anyone have pictures of such i could work with? any link or pictures would be appreciated.

Any shop/individual interested in helping me out (and i'm willing to finance some fabrication process) are welcome to pm me.

thanks

Here are updated pics using cardboard as a template to make sure of fitments before cutting out Cardbon fiber:

this is the only "problem" i'm not sure what to do with:

should i leave that gap? or should i try to enclose it... thoughts?

i made a shield out of a battery box. its only 2 sided tho and is no where close to the arc one. it just uses the head light housing and the wall of the engine bay for 2 sides. i didnt really measure i just used a dremel tool and started to make the thing smaller, n used a card board template for lengths. ill post pix when i find the camera lol.

I have a AEM SRI... works great, but i thought that doing this would be pretty neat without sacrificing very much exept some time and a small budget...

here a pic i found of what i;m trying to replicate.

i used the hood as the top. the box follows the contour of the hood. lol to get it to stay i zip tied it to an ac line and to the front of the engine bay. ill have to show u thru a pic bc its hard to explain. it really simple. shit i might even have the template from the last one still. what kinda car is it?

wouldn't the carbon be better on the left side towards the engine?

as opposed to the bling factor on top

if you can get a rough idea and then take your time and make a nice on it will look pretty slick

if anything cut the metal or whatever yourself and take it to a shop and have them weld it, and then put some sort of heat barrier on the inside to keep the head from the shield out

It looks great dude but there's really no power to really be gained from it. Great craftsmanship though...maybe something like that with a vent from the hood straight to that box....ram air vtak baby!

there is power to gain if you can keep your intake from heatsoaking as well not to mention if its done right can really clean up the engine bay
