Angry Issues with vtec

i recently jus purchased a pr3 ECU thats obd0. and it works with no problem but my motor feels like it lacks power wen vtec is engaged. almost as if it was bogging out . could it possibly be that vtec is actually not engaging or something else that i might be over looking. i had the wiring checked twice and its correct so i kno its not that. i have a 91 hatch w/ a d16z6 motor. any help would def be appreciated and repped. thanx

yeah, if your oil pressure is low, vtec wont turn over. vtec works off of oil pressure.

I don't mess with OBD0 but have heard of several issues with your setup. ECU looking for second O2 sensor, speed sensor issues related to vtec engagement, knock sensor, etc. OBD1 just saves a lot of trouble.
Are you throwing codes?
