Default on a freshly built swap

if u want to run syntheic is it better to start from scratch w/ synthetic or w/ conventional and then blend it to synthetic?

conventional first..
this will allow u to break the car in..synthetic after say 1000 miles

If its NA save your money and use conventional oil. Synthetic is not necessary for street use.

i ran royal pruple in my crx, i went 3000 miles and changed the filter, then another 3000 and changed the oil anf filter. i could tell the dfference with both oils +1 on syn

no it was more like a 3 step vtec. it added like 6 seconds on to my time, and like 80hp more... really, i felt a difference in proformance, not much. the oil didn't break down as easy. but it didn't help the dumbass that i sold it to, that dropped it for 4th to 1st gear doing 80mph down 75....

We use and recommend Castrol GTX. I used it in my personal car. TheRedDragon used it in his personal car. T4EG used it in his personal car. Great oil and not overly expensive
