Default Please help, rep given.

I need some help, so please respond.

Car: 1994 GSR

Miles: 178k

Problem: Once the car is warmed up, the idle should be around 800-900 or so, but it has the problem (which i think is the IACV?) where if you turn the wheel or turn the steering wheel, it jumps down to around 400-500 then back up. The big problem is once sitting there, the rev's drop down to sometimes as low as 100-200 (i don't know how it doesn't stall), then the oil pressure light comes on, the rev's go back up, and repeats usually the next time i stop (at a red light or stop sign). Does anyone know what this problem is? I know i need a new oil pan gasket and will get one, but I don't think thats the problem. I've been told everything from the IACV to a vacuum leak (which I don't know how to check). Thanks in advance for any help, and ill rep when i can (i almost instantly go on 24 hour ban )

could b that when u turn the wheel u pinch a line somewhere? thats an odd one. if ur idle is constant when the wheels are straight i doubt its ur iac. it seems like ur losing oil preassure when u turn the wheel. id crawl under there n check one of these days.

i dont lose pressure when i turn the wheel. heres how it happens..

1.pulling up to the redlight, slow down, downshift and brake into 1st gear
2.stop completely
3.the idle moves around when sitting (not messing with A/C or steering wheel)
4.the idle drops to about 400-500 RPM's, so I give it a bit of gas (around 1k RPM's)
5. once i let off the gas, the idle will drop to almost nothing (100-200-300 RPM range)
6. it goes back up and sits around 600 for 15-20 seconds or so, then back down
7. repeat

the oil pressure light comes on after step 5 obviously, and kouki crisp was nice enough to explain it to me. im 90% sure its the IACV at this point which i'll replace. I was also told to replace the intake manifold, any reason why and/or if its neccessary? thanks

yeah, when the cars not warmed up (usually first turning it on in the morning) it'll sit and hold between 1.5-2k RPM's for a few minutes, then when its at normal temperature is when it happens.

Not sure. I haven't had the car for that long, maybe 2 months? I changed the oil, and welded on a GSR pipe instead of the fart can it had.

IACV dirty, by the way 90 % of the time just need to be cleaned
timming problem(thats why i ask if u worked on the car)

so of those problems, whats the easiest/cheapest to do in order? obviously looking for a hose is first, but i dont wanna replace parts in some random order getting the expensive ones first, to find out its something cheap/easy
