Default 2nd Rev Limiter?

Ok so for some reason my civic is acting like it has a 2nd rev limiter. Its suppsoed to rev out at 8300, Well for some reason , it will hit some "magical" rev limiter anywhere between 5-65.k rpms. WTF? It was solid at 6500 for a while but today it was doing it at 5000 then 5500 then 6000 i dont fucking get it. Any input??

Car is a ej1 w/ Built b16 turbo.

A bad boost leak will cause make the car feel like its getting a fuel cut, or hitting a rev limiter, sometimes they're rather violent. I'd fix the wastegate problem and check for split or loose couplers in the mean time. Are you throwing any CEL's?

Ok this is what happened, The car was on 15lbs running like shit spittin and sputtering (not enough fuel) Turned it down to 10 and it was fine no spittering or sputtering, MEANWHILE IM STILL HITTIN A LIMITER AT 6.5K, Ran it a couple times then i feel it cuttin up, im like i think i got a boost leak, i look sure enough, im only vacing to 5 not 10plus like i useually do.

Like i said it was doing this before then, i think it might be my timing its pretty advanced and just might be the tune?

I would stop messing with the boost levels, honestly. If the car hasn't been tuned for that setup its not safe to run it, period. Fix whatever problems the car has first and then have it professionally tuned. And if you must drive it, i'd keep it out of boost if you like your motor. my .02
