Default Teg wont start out of nowhere

I know, most cliched post on TR. But anyway, b18c5 teg, out of nowhere wont start, wont turn over, lights and accessories work, I can hear the injectors. It happened as I was leaving the grocery store so I had to leave it for now, so I'm trying to get some ideas before i go back to mess with it. Same thing happened about two months ago and started after a looooong jump. But nothing ever was wrong again so I didnt replace the battery or anything. I tried jumping it this evening, but didnt want to hang the guy up too long and it wouldnt budge. How long should it take to jump before I should just realize thats not gonna do it?

dont know if its the same thing but my friend has a teg and the same thing happened. something between the battery and starter wasnt giving the starter power so we ran a wire from the starter and one from the battery and made a push start button.
cheap way of fixin it but it works never had a problem since

my b17 gsr has done this time to time with me too! check the wire leading to the starter , make sure it has a good connection , also could be your starter taking a shit . try to crank it numerous times and then take a break and repeat , if your patient you might get it to start. so you can take it home to better diagnose the problem. but try this before you pay to have it towed.. Like I said this has happened to me before , turned out the wire leading to the starter had a bad connection.

It was the clutch switch. Thanks all.

So I tried to tape a penny over the hole but couldn't get up there. I just pressed the button to start it to get home. Anyone have any ideas how to cover that hole?

I was more asking how to get to it. It appears that Im gonna have to unbolt the petal. Is it hard to get back in place because of the spring? I'm just trying to figure it out beforehand because I just cant have my car out of commission for tomorrow morning, so Ill just push the button if I need to.

Is there anyway to get to it becides unbolting the pivot point in the petal? and if not, is it tough to get the petal back in place?

Use a 10mm bolt and nut and you should be able to get in there and tighten it with open ended wrenches...I did mine without pulling anything out of the car.
