yes its most likely just grease for the rod. a very common honda problem are the salve cylinders. they range from 15 to 30 bucks at auto zone. thats what i would check first. very easy to see if its leaking or not. but there is a chance it could be clutch master cylinder too. check out both. all the problems like you are describing ended up being slave cylinders. check it out and let us know what you find.

yeah you can replace the "salve" cylinder but its a bitch and real expensive. like 400 bucks. id just replace the slave cylinder and be done.
if you read the post above it, it was a joke. i was referring to the "salve" cylinder that jake d pointed out i miss spelled it. Read a little bit, you will understand.
ok guys, it was acting up bad last night and when i drove home it like exploded on my driveway. I replace the slave which was like 15-20 bucks and its a new car again. Ty for all the help take care
