damn everyone got the jump on me. I guess the only things that werent mentioned are:
- if you dont have a ball joint seperator and decide to use a hammer hit the arm not the bolt or else you run the risk of deforming it
- bust out one hell of a big breaker bar for the axle bolt or better yet use an impact gun
- when playin with the flywheel youll need to clamp it to keep it from moving.
- warning! if for some reason you decide to open up the case a few of the bolts are spring loaded...not fun chasin those bad boys around the garage.
- and for the love of god dont drop the tranny on your head cant believe no one mentioned this...

Thanks again... I think im just going to go get a helmet and drop the beast on my head save myself the trouble. The tranny is pretty light compared to most though I was suprised having carried it into the house.

Bill I am keeping the same clutch will I need to do anything with the flywheel? Im going to go pick up a manual and read through my friends HELM tonight but for the most part I can take things apart and put them back together. The new tranny has the starter on it and everything else will be used from the old tranny.

Not sure why youre swapping out your clutch/flywheel assembly but Im sure you have your reasons.
Youll want to get a ring gear holder so that the flywheel doesnt move when you untorque the bolts. Of course you can also take some shop towels and a clamp and that will work as well. If you do it this way though make sure you dont damage the flywheels surface. Also remember to use a criss-cross unbolting/bolting pattern when working on the flywheel or anything that is seating sensitive (head wheels etc) for that matter. While at your friends house Id also take the time to write down the tolerance specs (check your equipment later against these specs with a straight edge and a feeler gauge) as well as the lubrication points. It also wouldnt be a bad time to check the play in the throwout bearing and flywheel bearing. Have fun
