Ok in a few months Ill be buying a 1999 Prelude. Shes my dream car and I was brainwashed into getting a 2000Ford zx2 (dont laugh)...what I need to know is what she pushes (HP and all the good -ish) and what aftermarket products are best for the prelude to improve speed and performance..thanks alot for the help!!

get if you want to be the

research and make sure to have a plan. 99 prelude i like them so much what color are you getting and what model if you know yet. good luck on the car if you need any help there are a hundred people here that will help so dont be shy.

tq 156 @5250rpm
10:1 compression if that makes a lick of difference to you...
all this equals about 15.5 at 87 mph give or take and this was with dynoed 156 hp. The internet is a wonderufl thing. Type Sh is heavier tho...

 

Well I know I want either silver or black going more towards black...not sure what model yet; all I know is Ive wanted a car I could race since I got my liscense and its finally happening!! And I definitely wanna be able to be one of the few girls out there on Saturday nights that can hang with the big boys!!!

If drag racing is your thing save some dollars and some weight and go with the base model. The SH is heavier by close to 200lbs and it costs a lot more. DO NOT BUY AN AUTOMATIC!!! They are piss slow - my friend ran a 15.4 on his....with a 70 shot of NOS! It ran a 17 something off the bottle. Not fast. When he took me for a ride I actually had to ask him if he had the bottle on. Ouch.

Anyway welcome to the club and good luck with your new car. I recommend the silver due to its low maintenence and great looks (my fav) and black is just a PITA in FL. Heat and swirl marks suck. Good luck.

Well I think I know not to get an auto!! Thats what my zx2 is now and believe it or not Ive played with a few cars and beat em!! But I think I might just have to go with your suggestion of the silver....when it comes closer to time to get the car Ill be askin alot more questions!! Thanks alot!!

a really good mod to make that engine go is to sell the motor to me that will be the best mod you coild do

 

ha cute!! And what praytell would I do after that?!? Im prepared to put all my cash flow into this car to make it one of the fastest female-driven cars that race so selling my engine would be a dumb move on my part dont ya think?

If you want to make it one of the fastest you are getting the wrong car. I can understand your wanting to have your so-called dream car but the Prelude is a sled and the motor is an underachiever in such a heavy car. If you are looking at it for comfort value I understand but have you looked at the Integra GSR. It has a much stronger aftermarket support and the motor is much easier to pull power from.

a quick layout lower compression to 9.1:1 with forged pistions then get forged rods 550 injectors 18g kitfront mount with all the pipes 3 exhaust j&s ultra safeguard p&p intake manifoid and tb with port matched intake and exhaust portsturbo timer boost controller blow off valve cam gears aftermarket clutch get a 180degree themastat to help cooling and maybe a fal fan a great suspension to put the power to the ground and a whole lot of tuning.
