Default D16z6 Questions

Ok, I'm new to honda as this is my first and I have a few questions about my car. It's a 91 ef hatch with a d16z6 vtec. My first question is what is a stock d16z6 redline? My second is that when I bought the car the guy said it had a p jun chiped ecu but it hits a revlimiter at 6k so i'm thinking thats bs but wanting your opinion and its got a header and exhuast but do any of you have any opinions on mods that are good for the d series cams, cam gears, ext

oh snap 7400, so your telling me i have 1400 rpms that I havnt even touched yet on a stock motor? Is it just my ecu thats making it that low of revlimiter or is it something else? How can I tell what ecu I have and is a p28 what I should have? Also the car was converted to none obd if that means anything.

Your tach maybe off. You maybe running a different rom then a p28 rom considerin gyour ecu is probably obd0.

The p28 is the d16z6 stock ecu.

A p05 ecu is a non-vtec ecu. Your p05 maybe a chipped/converted p05 ecu. You won't be able to tell unless you open it and take pictures of it...

that you have a cx ecu

Which is why you have a lower redline and your vtec will not work unless it was rigged to work off a switch or msd box.

If your cars converted to obd1 just get a p28 or you can have the p05 converted just talk to mtber.

^^^^^^
Nevermind he beat me to it...

Just unscrew the top and look at this area and if its like this its chipped
