overheating

Default overheating

my friend just bought a 96 ex and it had overheating issues! coolent temp sensor was bad so we changed it. then it wasstill over heating so we checked the thermostat and there wasnt even one there so we put a brand new one in. so now you start the car and let it idle it wont overheat but when you start driving it will overheat. anyone have any ideas???? please help

how does the car run? any CELs? any leaking from the weeping holes on your water pump? also any water in your oil or vise versa? possible head gasket goin out? g/l

no leaks, no oil in coolent no coolent in oil! car runs good. no cel's either.

oil level is good too right? as well as the coolant level

possible that there is a clog somewhere not letting the coolant flow? also is the radiator cap in good condition? make sure the seal is good on it. i'm pretty stumpt you dont have a block guard in it do ya?

could be the pump maybe the fans wired wrong or even a ground wire from the motor

Do A Flush On The System As Well As Check The Cap Have Overheated Cuz Cap Was Letting Presure Out To Soon I Belive Its Around 11-13 Psi If U Get It Presure Tested

as state din other threads take off the rad cap start the car let the fan cycle on a ferw times. this will release the air bubbles out. put back on the rad cap and you should be fine. you could also start the car and loosen the weep hole bolt by the thermostat area and have it like that til there is a steady steam of water coming out which indicates no air bubbles. re-tighten the bolt and you shoul be fine.

i did a flush on it today and as far as the cap it looks like its in bad cond but everone i asked said its ok looking it looks like something is miss from it when i look at a pic online and also the gauge is always on cold it doesnt move on till the car is overheating and jumps to hot and the fan goes on
