Default funny vtec issue

k so im gettin on i75 today n stomp on it in 2nd gear. thing makes it to like 7600 rpm n just falls outa vtec n then wont go past 4k. it hit the rev limit at 4k like it was in some sort of limp mode. the speedo went to 0 when all this happened too. there was no CEL n once the speedo came back on the damn thing was fine. this happens randomly. i dont think its the vss bc there was no engine light n if the vss was out it wouldnt run in a limp mode like it did. ima clean some corrosion off the wires to the speed sensor tomorro n c if it helps. i talked to someone about it today n they told me it was the ignition control module on the dizzy. he said that all of these symptoms would occur if it was this n that they happen spiratically at first n get worse. he also said the best way to fix this is to get a new dizzy (prefferably a b series vtec 1 since im usin the ls). anyone else kno about this? i just got the ls vtec broken in and would like to have some fun with it! thanks for readin all of this. rep will b given to all who help! thanks in advance.

sounds like it could be some sort of short. check your battery and alternator connections. I would also get a vtec dizzy since your running vtec.

Your factory ecu looks for 20+ mph before it allows vtec to engage.
It sounds like a vehicle speed sensor issue.

Ignition Control Module goin bad. typical for rpms bouncing around and not going past a certain rpm usually around 4 grand.

Hmm, I'm having similar problems except it's only my RPM's bouncing around and I just go in an out of VTEC. Where is the Ignition Control Module located?
