My buddy has a fully built d16a6 (all motor) and its really not impressive...my b18a1 swap with a few bolt ons will pull slowly on it and has way less money invested in it.

do it for the fun/ love. you cant always look at it as " will i get my money back" and dont do it cause someone says you should. do it because thats what you wanna do. most cars you see selling that are modded are not getting what they paid. and at the end it dont matter as long as it was fun while it lasted.

before you boost it, if you are not planning to rebuild the internals, def have the engine checked for its current health condition

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

if you are worried about getting your money back out of your car when you sell it, don't modify it at all. if you want a fast d series you must turbo or supercharge it. if you don't force feed the d series you are simply wasting your money.
